What We Like
  • This is 1300 cm2 projected area which is actually about a 1600 cm2 of most other foils.
  • This foil is has a lot of kick for a wing this size. You need to set it farther back in the track than other foils.
  • You can breach the wing tip without having the foil drop out on you.
  • The longer fuselage makes this foil super pitch stable for pumping.
  • This is a really lightweight aluminum set up.
  • The improved mast has very little flex which translates into better pumping.
  • Pumping is a breeze with this foil.
  • Surprisingly easy to surf for a performance-oriented foil.
  • Unlike the full carbon version, the AC75 is fully modular so you can take it apart to travel or add a longer mast.
What We Don't Like
  • The LOL Pro 1300 felt stiff in the turns. It is a bigger fuse and tail wing so what makes it stable also makes it stiff to turn.
  • The bags are kind of cheap as they are foam blocks that the parts go in and a nylon case around that.
  • A lot of people are getting the wrong size because they don't understand this is projected area. The 1300 projected area is actually around 1600 cm2 total area.
Why you want the LOL Pro Foil 1300

This foil is stupid easy. It is a great foil to learn on but it also rips as you get better. The ease of use will correct your mistakes so you will have a vertical progression the entire time you own this foil.

Description

This hydrofoil is versatile and extremely maneuverable. The 1300cm2 is the smallest wing in the series giving excellent glide and maneuverability with extreme turning performance. Hence, the stabilizer differs from the LOL profoil 1600 and LOL profoil 1900 setups.

It is the ultimate option for surf foiling. Its amazing in both waves and downwind foiling. Designed for speed, this foil is surprisingly stable. It's greatest innovation is provided by the revolutionary winglets that allow the wings to be more efficient at creating more lift while minimising drag. This setup is the perfect choice for downwinding in conditions of strong wind or large swells.

Super easy beginner foil that you won't grow out of

The Takuma LOL Pro Foil 1300 is a super easy beginner foil. The 70cm fuselage and larger tail wing give you a lot of balance and stability. This foil is extremely forgiving. You can pop out a wing tip and it will settle back into the water with out dropping you.

I found that this foil was a bit bigger than the 1300 shows. It is more in the range of most 1500 foils that I have tried. It has a lot of front foot lift too so I like the mast in the middle of the boxes.

For 2021 they have updated the mast and fuselage construction so it is a lot stronger with a direct feel. Unlike the carbon Takuma, the aluminum is modular so you can take it apart. It also has a varying case for the wings and the rest of the foil. The bags are kind of cheap, but it is an inexpensive foil so not bad that it comes with a case too.

This foil has plenty of performance so you won't grow out of it after you get good. If you do want to upgrade, you can fit the Kujira wings on this mast and get a ton of top performance.

The up turned wing tips are a bit concerning when you look down at them but I haven't hit one yet.

I really liked the sanded carbon to gloss white finish on these wings. Looks fresh and clean.

This is one of the better all around foils for any sport that I have tried.
