from 1558 reviewsI can only think of 3 words when I think of this kite, and it's loop, loop, loop! I feel so comfortable looping this kite because not only does it boost you high enough to send them, but it's all about that catch. This kite quite literally teleports back up to the wind window to catch you. Often in the past, I have heard that a kite has an amazing loop, tried it out, and it wasn't anything exceptional, but this kite is totally different.
Truly, this insanely easy loop makes up for the kite's struggle in non-overpowered conditions. When this kite isn't happy, it kind of throws a bit of a tantrum; it stops jumping as high, starts riding super slowly, and stalls a bit more than it should. However, when this beast is happy, there are very few, if any, kites on the market that compare to the NXT V2.
I am seriously impressed. This kite boosts like crazy, yet remains incredibly stable and easy to handle. The bar pressure is perfect, it's neither too heavy nor too light, and gives you a great feel for where the kite is at all times. Where it really shines is the hangtime; it keeps you floating significantly longer than almost anything else out there. It’s a genuinely amazing kite, and I can't recommend it enough.
This is hands down one of the most reliable, all-around kites in my quiver. I fly the 12m, and it handles both over- and underpowered conditions really well. The Reach has been a huge help in my progression—it drifts well while surfing, performs well on a foil, and boosts quite nice. Overall, it's a versatile, super chill kite that makes sure you have a fun session on the water every time you take it out.
I have flown countless kites in my life, and I’ve rarely seen one with such a massive skill scope. If you want a kite to learn on, get a Code V2. If you want to learn how to jump, grab a Code V2. If you want to progress with your loops, grab a Code V2! While there are other kites that might edge it out at the absolute highest end, such as the NXT, I cannot name another kite that takes you from pure beginner to big air progression at such a great price. Seriously, if you are a beginner or intermediate looking for an amazing big air kite, you can’t go wrong with the Code V2. It’s amazing!
Tried these out on a 134cm Space Agency and they were great. My big complaint with a lot of bindings is that they feel dead under your feet and limit your feedback from the board. These fall into that sweet spot where they have enough padding to be really soft on landings but still allow you to feel what the board is doing. The texture is interesting but you get used to it. The sizing chart seems to be right on, I wear a men's 9 and the M/L fit right with the loose fit I like to ride with. I prefer single point adjustment so the 4 point adjustment is not my favorite but it works.
If you've never heard of Blak Bear Surf Club before, definitely check them out on Instagram. They've got a team of some of the hardest charging core surfers from Hawaii and beyond, and they're making really solid and dependable gear. I used this leash on a trip to Mexico, and put it in solid head+ waves everyday with no issue. I love that it's 8mm for a 6ft leash, so you can use it for your standard shortboards and stepups without worrying about it breaking. Super comfortable cuff, no issues with tangles, and all-around great leash. Perfect option for keeping your board with you in heavy waves! Every product Blak Bear makes is the classic, no-fluff, high-quality & trustworthy gear you're looking for. Check them out!
I have always been a standard zip-up day bag guy, but after trying this bag, my whole mentality has changed. I took the 7'0" on a trip to Mexico, and it was awesome to be able to put any of my boards in, and carry it with the shoulder strap for my walk down to the beach. It can roll down to any board size similar to a dry bag, and has extra space in the bag for spare leashes, towels, rashguard, etc. It was super convenient for me to be able to have my board and gear in the bag over my shoulder, and have my hands free for other items. It kept the wax from melting off my board in the heat, and also has waterproof coating on it so you can use it as a changing mat; the water beads right off. You don't have to worry about any zipper corrosion or anything either. I'm super stoked on mine, I think everyone should grab one!
My mother in law rides a 144 and loves this board. I've ridden it in a 135 and thought it was great for upwinding. I have friends who swear by this board for Big Air. I find it holds an edge really well. It's slightly less playful and forgiving then their choice board but overall a great option.
I'm 145 lbs and 5'6. I ride the 134. Super playful and fun to ride. Great for trying new things and having a good time. By far my favorite board I've ever ridden. Can't help but be excited when I get to take this board for a spin.
I've tried many waist harnesses as a female kiter trying to learn new tricks and haven't found many that fit right. This one is by far my favorite. I am 22 y/o, 5'6'' and 145 lbs. I wear a size XS. The difference I've noticed between this harness and the mens XS stealth would be that I can get it tighter so it doesn't ride up and of course the color is awesome. I have had no rubbing issues but I've never used it without a rash guard. Overall great, durable product.
I’ve been flying the Code V2 consistently for 6 months now. For a three strut kite, it has a surprising amount of instant sheet-in power while also having the maneuverability and turning speed of any other three strut kite. This makes it great for jumping and free riding, and I would absolutely recommend this kite for any experience level.
The only issue with this kite is the depower system doesn’t seem to take much power out of the kite, and the kite doesn’t fly nearly as well when fully depowered. Regardless, still a 5 star kite.
I always have problems with harness riding up or squeezing my ribs but this harness fixed all those problems. I have been using this in the rental shop for about a year now and think that it is an amazing harness. It dosnt ride up like a lot of other brands and feels like it’s pulling from your lower back not your upper chest. 10/10 would recommend.
This is the best board ever made hands down. It is super playful so it’s a lot of fun to ride but still stiff enough to jump really well on. Whenever I can get this from the rental shop it is my first choice. It just feels so solid under your feet.
This is possibly my new favorite kite. I am 165 lbs and an experienced kiter. This kite boosts! Its extremely fast for a five strut and extremely light weight which helps it drift. What!? A drifting 5 strut booster. Ya I never thought I would see the day but I would happily take this kite in the surf or kitefoil with it. I love when I accidentally slack the lines too much on a not well timed landing the kite never front stalls and just drifts back in the wind window until I can regain line tension. It heli loops like a dream and has an amazing low end for a 5 strut. I have to share kites with my wife and I like to ride powered kites and my wife being 130 lbs likes to ride kites at thier low end and until now we clashed and couldnt find a kite that behaved well in both their top end and low end. Search has ended. I am stoked on the new Reedin Master Model. Highly recommend!
Its not the most technically sophisticated kite but it does its job extremely well. It can get a 200+lbs kiter going in 10 knots of wind on a 17m. I won't lie it turns on the slower side but for a beginner or someone just looking to mow the lawn it gets the job done when most other similar price point kites would fall out of the sky. Its fairly high aspect so it flys decently fast for a 17m and goes upwind easily to boot. If your home spot is usually sub 15 knots and you are not wanting to spend the dough to get a core air or reedin wisper light style kite then you really cant beat the price point on the slingshot ghost. Would highly recommend adding to your quiver as your dedicated budget light wind machine if you dont mind sacrificing some turning speed.
