Chapter 1: Intro

Trip Forman: Welcome to the REAL Board Loft. I’m Trip Forman, and today we’re talking about the Lost Lazy Toy II—also known as the Lazy Boy II. That’s what it really is, but officially it’s the Lazy Toy II.

Trip Forman: The original Lazy Boy was one of our best-selling boards for years. It was ahead of its time—well before the mid-length and easy-to-ride board trend really took off.

Chapter 2: Evolution from the Original

Trip Forman: The Lazy Toy II builds on that foundation with refinements from the original. The rails are more foiled out, giving the board a bit more performance while keeping its easy, forgiving feel.

Trip Forman: It also adds a diamond tail to loosen things up and give a bit more release off the back.

Chapter 3: Why This Board is So Popular

Trip Forman: The biggest reason this board is so popular is that it works for a huge range of surfers—from younger, style-focused riders to experienced surfers, to kids progressing off longboards.

Trip Forman: The sweet spot is massive. On a board like this 6’2”, you can stand across a wide section of the deck and it will still perform. That’s very different from a traditional shortboard where your foot placement has to be precise.

Chapter 4: Easy Speed and Wave Catching

Trip Forman: The flatter rocker and wider tail make it easy to catch waves and generate speed right from takeoff.

Trip Forman: With subtle concaves and some V, the board carries speed well through flatter sections and maintains glide.

Chapter 5: Flexible Sizing and Volume Range

Trip Forman: One of the best things about this board is how flexible it is with sizing. You can ride it close to your shortboard volume or size up significantly and still enjoy it.

Trip Forman: It’s hard to pick the wrong size. If you’re between sizes, going bigger usually helps—more waves, easier paddling, and better performance in smaller surf.

Chapter 6: Fin Setup Options

Trip Forman: This board comes with a five-fin setup. I like running split keels for maximum down-the-line speed, especially in softer surf.

Trip Forman: If you want a looser feel and more turning ability, go with a standard thruster or quad setup. You can also run a twin plus trailer—there’s a lot of flexibility depending on your style and conditions.

Chapter 7: Construction Options

Trip Forman: This version is built in C4 construction—a cork carbon composite with a full cork deck and EPS epoxy core. It’s lightweight, lively, and has great rebound.

Trip Forman: It’s also available in standard PU poly construction, which has a more traditional feel and weight.

Chapter 8: Sizes and Final Thoughts

Trip Forman: The Lazy Toy II comes in sizes from 5’0” for groms all the way up to 7’2”, which is an incredible paddling machine.

Trip Forman: Whether you’re progressing, looking for an easy daily driver, or just want more waves and more fun, this board delivers.

Trip Forman: If you have questions or want to order, give us a call or visit realwatersports.com. Thanks for tuning in.
