The Superbrand PigDog Pro | Brett Barley Approved

Superbrand is excited to announce the release of the PigDog Pro surfboard model. Designed in collaboration with North Carolina tube hound Brett Barley and the Superbrand Shapers’ Collective, the PigDog Pro adds a specialized model to the already stacked lineup of Superbrand surfboards.

After doing more than his fair share of RnD on the famed Outer Banks of North Carolina, Brett Barley has refined and fine-tuned the original PigDog to suit his high-performance barrel riding needs. Retaining the forward volume but with a modern rail and narrower outline and tail, the Brett Barley PigDog Pro is a tube shooter in every sense of the word. Looking to get the barrel of your life? Look no further than the PigDog Pro.

How does it differ from the traditional PigDog?

The PigDog Pro has a more pulled in tail compared to the traditional PigDog. This allows for deeper barrel riding and a sleeker outline. If you think about it in terms of what kind of waves the PigDog and PigDog Pro would excel in here ya go; the traditional PigDog would be better in big, slopey waves with the occasional barrel section while the PigDog Pro would excel on the kind of day where it’s barreling up and down the beach and turns are an afterthought.

“The PigDog Pro is made specifically for barrel riding, getting deep in the tube, and riding over the foam ball,” says Brett Barley. “I’ve ridden regular shortboards on days where I’d normally ride a PigDog Pro, and have found myself sliding out in the tube when I hit the foam ball. That never happens on the PigDog Pro. I trust nothing else when it’s barreling. I ride ‘em about one or two liters above my normal range and have gotten the best barrels of my life on the PigDog Pro. I’m stoked to have my name attached to it!” he adds.
