What We Like:
We have been looking for a good quality surf shade for a long time. Most of them are cheap plastic shades with cheap plastic lenses. Once you have had the luxury of enjoying sunny days behind a high quality pair of shades it is hard to hit the water with total junk lenses. The lenses on the Typhoon are the highest quality polarized Zeiss lenses which have a hydrophobic coating. On both sides of the frame there are vents to keep the glasses from fogging up as well.

The frames are top quality materials, screws and hinges with soft rubberized nose bridge, brow and ear pieces. There is a tie down strap that will keep them on your head even in a double over head wipe out. We took some heavy beatings in big surf, and we could not shake the Typhoons loose.

During our six month test phase, we put the Typhoons on a variety of different people that were taking kiteboarding lessons. Both men and women came back with rave reviews about the fit, feel, visibility and comfort of these glasses.

The Typhoon comes complete with the glasses, tie dow straps, hard case, additional anti-fog solutions and cleaning cloth.

Insider Info:
There are two lenses that you can get with the Typhoon. The Bronze lens is best suited for medium to low light settings or for those that want to have a brighter view. The Gun Blue lens is a grey lens with a blue mirror finish. These are best suited for bright sun conditions.

The lenses are highly impact resistant poly carbonate. That means if you smash yourself in the eye with the kite bar or the reef, these lenses will take the beating and not shatter. They are very scratch resistant as well.

Lip has figured out a way to guarantee you don't loose your water glasses. Their glasses retainer uses a sturdy lock on attachment piece and the retailer strap will not stretch or give when it is wet. This retainer strap attaches to a silicon hoop that you wear around your neck. Some people don't like to wear the silicon hoop because it is one more thing to have to fuss with. If you want to be 100% sure to keep you glasses from flying off, use the retainer strap and the extra silicon hoop.
