from 2113 reviewsThis is possibly my new favorite kite. I am 165 lbs and an experienced kiter. This kite boosts! Its extremely fast for a five strut and extremely light weight which helps it drift. What!? A drifting 5 strut booster. Ya I never thought I would see the day but I would happily take this kite in the surf or kitefoil with it. I love when I accidentally slack the lines too much on a not well timed landing the kite never front stalls and just drifts back in the wind window until I can regain line tension. It heli loops like a dream and has an amazing low end for a 5 strut. I have to share kites with my wife and I like to ride powered kites and my wife being 130 lbs likes to ride kites at thier low end and until now we clashed and couldnt find a kite that behaved well in both their top end and low end. Search has ended. I am stoked on the new Reedin Master Model. Highly recommend!
Its not the most technically sophisticated kite but it does its job extremely well. It can get a 200+lbs kiter going in 10 knots of wind on a 17m. I won't lie it turns on the slower side but for a beginner or someone just looking to mow the lawn it gets the job done when most other similar price point kites would fall out of the sky. Its fairly high aspect so it flys decently fast for a 17m and goes upwind easily to boot. If your home spot is usually sub 15 knots and you are not wanting to spend the dough to get a core air or reedin wisper light style kite then you really cant beat the price point on the slingshot ghost. Would highly recommend adding to your quiver as your dedicated budget light wind machine if you dont mind sacrificing some turning speed.
They dont call it a door for no reason but if you have not gotten into foiling then this is your ultimate lightwind board. It will get you going in 10 knots of wind and with some planing speed to boot. Its also a great board to teach your buddy on. Super forgiving for the big guys just trying to stay up wind on the lighter wind days. They really dont make em bigger then this so its not for everyone but if your home spot is usually sub 15knots and you are on the bigger side then the big one might be for you. Its not a jumper and with the double heel side fin not a toe side cruiser but it does its dedicated job extremely well which is to get you up and going with the least amount of power in the kite as possible. It can make a beginner 200+ lbs kiter get going in 10 knots. Pretty impressive for a twin tip.
The stealth spreader bar with rope slider is one of the best on the market in its class. I like how robust yet light it is and how much padding it gives for those shirtless days. I also like how I can lock the slider ring in place for a twintip jumping session and then easily switch back to the slider when the waves clean up again. I especially love how easily it is to open and close the stealth bar. It makes cold winter sessions with gloves on a breeze to gear up. Would highly recommend if you like to free the feet and go strapless might as well free the hips too.
After a few sessions on this bar I’ve been really impressed. The auto unwind works flawlessly as always with core bars, the grips are much higher quality and seem to be more durable than previous years especially the sensor 3, and it is noticeably lighter than previous bars
this board can hold a ton of power when riding into boosts. The landings are also super soft.
This is a great option if you’re looking for a board that can do everything you need in light wind without limiting yourself on windier days, the larger sizes go upwind, jump, transition, and water-start even up to the 154 and 152.
This kite makes flying a 15 or 17 fun again, I’ve had student loving this kite whether they are working on first rides or dialing in jumps. I prefer the Dacron over the aluula simply because I find the Dacron relaunches a little bit easier.
Jumps great, light weight, turns fast, soft landings!
Slingshot really did a good job with the V3 bar. The new smaller chicken loop is nice upgrade too. Five stars.
It really is everything you could want out of a bar. Nice reliable saftey system too.
The lift x is a true hybrid between a foil assist set up and efoil. Not completely either but a rippable contender. Ive ridden the lift 4 and 5 gens and have yet to feel like I left the session jonesing for more. It has the power of a dedicated efoil yet feels lively underfoot like a foil assist setup. Although it can glide without the motor you definitely still notice the drag but its no where as bad as letting the trigger off of a standard efoil where you just nosedive. So its fun playing on a bump if there is plenty of energy in it. All and all the most fun I've had on an efoil.
Cons: Its definitely not a beginner setup but that was the whole point of this. Requires more of a surf style pop up as opposed to a standard wingfoil or efoil one knee and stand up movement.
If you are an avid efoiler and want a high performance setup and possibly play around a little on moving bumps without going full assist then this is for you.
The North Standard Kite Leash is one of those pieces of gear you don’t think about much—until you use a bad one and realize how good this actually is. It feels solid, compact, and purpose-built without any unnecessary bulk getting in the way while riding.
The quick-release handle has a really grippy TPU feel, making it easy to find and trust even in sketchy situations. The release action is smooth and consistent, and reloading it is straightforward once you get used to it. Everything about it feels secure and well engineered.
You may be thinking training wheels are not what you want but if you are an efoiler then the blowfish is a huge bonus on multiple accounts. First it helps massively with taxi stability for anyone with hip mobility issues or just general balance challenges such as little kids or the elderly. It makes getting to your feet a breeze for taxi practice. Second it helps in choppy conditions when getting to your feet may be more of a challenge for begginners. Third it is a great addition to throw on your board yo size up volume if you are going to teach your buddy or loved one how to efoil without needing 2 different sized boards. Long story short if you have balance or flexibility challenges or want a smaller more playful board size for yourself but still want to use your set up to teach friends then the blowfish is for you.
The cons, it adds weight while carrying the board or at flight and suction/drag while at taxi.
The CORE Union Pro 5 straps are easily the most comfortable bindings I’ve ridden. The footbeds provide excellent cushioning without feeling too soft, giving you a secure, connected feel to the board while still soaking up hard landings.
The adjustability is outstanding, making it easy to dial in the perfect fit whether you’re riding barefoot or with booties. Once they’re set up, your feet stay locked in with no pressure points or unwanted movement.
