The Quintal Cutty is one of those fins that offers some of the the best of both worlds, an upright pivot style entry on the front half and a cutaway with less area throughout the trailing half results in a noserider that you can easily crank turns on. With plenty of area providing hold on the nose, the cutaway base allows for high style cutbacks and big bottom turns.
Justin Quintal, born in Satellite Beach, Florida in 1989 and later raised in South Carolina and Jacksonville, grew up surfing from a very young age under the influence of his father. Though he began as a shortboarder, a move to South Carolina introduced him to longboarding, where he quickly found his style. His breakthrough came in 2009 when he entered and won the inaugural Vans Joel Tudor Duct Tape Invitational, kicking off a career that has since included multiple Duct Tape titles and the 2019 WSL World Longboard Championship. Known for his classic, traditional approach to longboarding - emphasizing flow and noseriding over flashy maneuvers. Quintal has also contributed to the industry through his surfboard company he launched in collaboration with longtime shaper legend - Ricky Carroll which is called Black Rose Manufacturing. More recently Quintal founded the epic Loggerhead Classic surf contest to support East Coast longboarding talent.
