When it comes to surfing, nobody forgets their first ride!
In Surfing 201 you paddle out, find your wave, and experience one of the ultimate thrills in watersports. This 1.5-hour class is perfect for graduates of Surfing 101, as well as students with basic surfing experience. This ocean-based class covers ocean safety, equipment, catching waves, riding waves, etiquette, and surfer responsibility.
Not only does Surfing 201 help you catch your first waves, but it also gives you the foundational skills to understand why you caught them, and how to catch many more on your own.
These skills will make your ocean sessions smoother, safer, and—most importantly—a whole lot more fun.
Ages 6–11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian enrolled in Surfing 201.
RAIN CHECK POLICY: All lessons are paid in full upon booking with REAL Watersports. If your lesson is unable to be completed due to conditions the lesson amount will be rain checked to your REAL account. REAL account credit may be used to re-book lessons and camps, rent gear, and/or purchase merchandise from the REAL flagship store and REALwatersports.com. Your REAL account credit will never expire and can be used at any time.
LESSON NO SHOWS: If you fail to show up at the time of your scheduled lesson, you will forfeit the value of your lesson and will not receive a raincheck. Due to the group nature of the lesson, we are unable to postpone the lesson if you are running late. If you fail to show up on time for your scheduled lesson you may miss out on key instruction.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, you can do so up to 14 days before the scheduled lesson time with no rescheduling fees. A rescheduling fee of $30.00/student will be applied to any lessons canceled or rescheduled within 14 days of the scheduled lesson start time, and the remaining balance will be placed on your REAL account. If your lesson is canceled by REAL, you will receive a raincheck equivalent to the value of the lesson booked. No rainchecks will be issued for cancellations or no shows within 48 hours of a lesson.
WHAT TO BRING: Students are required to have their own water wear. This includes sunscreen, a standard bathing suit and rash guard, and/or wetsuits ranging in thickness depending on the season.
