Introducing the Mindcraft by Daniel Thomson, a minimalist design optimized for pure function in collaboration with Kelly Slater.

The Mindcraft was designed to connect the surfer to their equipment like never before, a mind surfing experience. The outline was chosen for its minimalism and pure function, “a seamless blend of straightened and elliptical curves,” says Daniel. The shape and design provide tons of speed and drive, with a feeling of pinpoint precision and the ability to turn on a dime – this board stays under your feet and goes where you want it to go.

For the outline, which is a blend of straightened and elliptical curves with a torpedo nose. This super functional torpedo nose profile is designed to be forgiving in the most critical moments, and its design aesthetic that both Tomo and Kelly feel is superior in performance for surfing outside of the Jersey. A bump wing round tail completes the balance and symmetry of this design, allowing for tight turns at speed with exceptional control.

The bottom contours are smoother, more continuous, and more subtle compared to Tomo’s past models, offering plenty of speed and flow with a moderate performance rocker. There’s a single to double concave that keeps the design engaged with the wave face while still offering lively response familiar to Tomo’s other designs.

Fully optimized to be ridden as either a Quad or Thruster, allowing for maximum versatility in waves 2-6 foot.

WAVE TYPE

• Like many of Tomo’s models, the Mindcraft excels in waves with more energy, but can also be ridden in smaller conditions. Recommended for the 2-6' range, with power and punchy pockets.

MORE ON THE SHAPE

• Built with five boxes, Tomo optimized this design to work equally as well in the Quad or Thruster configurations. Kelly typically rides his Slater Designs Endorfin KS1 rake template or his Endorfin KS1 template in this shape.
• Similar to many of Tomo’s snub nose, parallel outline shapes, the Mindcraft is uniquely versatile in that it has volume distributed throughout and plenty of planing surface such that you can ride this shape several inches shorter than your standard shortboard.
