Lesson Details
Kiteboarding is most quickly mastered by breaking down the learning process into two stages, flying the kite and riding the board. Learning to fly the kite properly and safely before entering the water will dramatically improve your learning curve. This on-land class covers wind knowledge, rigging, line management, kite safety, rider responsibility, and flying techniques. By completing this 1.5hr class, the student will know how to safely launch, land, and operate a real kiteboarding kite on land. Knowing the kite like the back of your hand will make getting going on the board a breeze!

LESSON RAIN CHECK AND CANCELLATION POLICY
RAIN CHECK POLICY: All lessons are paid in full upon booking with REAL Watersports. If your lesson is unable to be completed due to conditions the lesson amount will be rain checked to your REAL account. REAL account credit may be used to re-book lessons and camps, rent gear, and/or purchase merchandise from the REAL flagship store and REALwatersports.com. Your REAL account credit will never expire and can be used at any time.
LESSON NO SHOWS: If you fail to show up at the time of your scheduled lesson, you will forfeit the value of your lesson and will not receive a raincheck. Due to the group nature of the lesson, we are unable to postpone the lesson if you are running late. If you fail to show up on time for your scheduled lesson you may miss out on key instruction.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, you can do so up to 14 days before the scheduled lesson time with no rescheduling fees. A rescheduling fee of $30.00/student will be applied to any lessons canceled or rescheduled within 14 days of the scheduled lesson start time, and the remaining balance will be placed on your REAL account. If your lesson is canceled by REAL, you will receive a raincheck equivalent to the value of the lesson booked. No rainchecks will be issued for cancellations or no shows within 48 hours of a lesson.
WHAT TO BRING: Students are required to have their own water wear. This includes sunscreen, a standard bathing suit and rash guard, and/or wetsuits ranging in thickness depending on the season.
If you do not have any of this, do not worry; the REAL Flagship Store is always stocked with the finest water wear and accessories so you can be comfortable on and off the water. All REAL students get 10% off regularly priced wetsuits, rash guards, sunscreen, sunglasses, and clothing at REAL while participating in lessons. This discount does not apply to gear or accessories such as boards, fins or leashes. Always remember to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
