The Foil Drive Assist MAX+ is the all-rounder of the Gen2.5 range — a powerful foil assist with minimal compromise on ride feel. Built on the new 43V Gen2.5 architecture, it packs the power and technology of the Fusion into the same compact, balanced package that made the original Assist MAX the go-to system across every foiling discipline.

With a unique balance of power, runtime and ride feel, the MAX+ does everything well without asking you to give up much of anything. From tiny bumps to the biggest waves of your life, it adds power, runtime and range to practically any foil setup you already ride — surfing, light-wind winging, downwind, wake, flatwater or eFoiling.

What's New in Gen2.5

• 43 Volt Electronics
  • A higher voltage holds power for longer into your session. It limits the effects of voltage drop, so you get more punch on take-off and a more efficient use of your battery capacity.
• 20% More Power & Thrust Than the MAX
  • 35.5kg of thrust against the Gen2 MAX's 29.5kg. Use it to downsize your foil or board, or conserve runtime by getting up on plane quickly and foiling at a lower throttle percentage.
• Smart Battery Technology
  • A Smart BMS actively manages the battery through use, charging and storage. Riding a trench board? Set up the night before with the battery powered off in the Foil Drive App, then power it back on when you hit the water.
• Stronger Battery Durability
  • Gen2.5 batteries use IP69 waterproofing and a robust moulded housing to protect the cells. The battery stays an independent component, so if damage does occur it can be replaced without replacing the whole system.
• Simplified Install
  • Fewer install steps and Foil Drive M7 Titanium Split Bolts get a Gen2.5 unit set up and driving much faster.
• Faster Charging
  • The 43V 12amp charger is included with every MAX+. Running two batteries? It keeps you cycling through both all day when conditions are cranking.

Where the MAX+ Sits in the Range

Every decision you make impacts another. The perfect Foil Drive is different for every rider — the MAX+ on the FM+ 650 Battery is designed to sit right in the middle, and it is the best starting point for most people. Shown against the Fusion and the outgoing Gen2 MAX for reference.

Compared to the Gen2 MAX, you get 20% more thrust and 9% more capacity for an extra 800g. The Fusion has more of both again, but it is 1.4kg heavier than the MAX+, and you feel that on the water.

Runtime is highly variable depending on skill, weight, gear sizing and conditions — an indicative guide only, based on an 85kg rider on an 800–1000cm² wing. Total install weight includes unit, battery, integrated High Power motor, three blade hub and props, and nose cone where applicable.

Battery

The MAX+ runs the new FM+ 650 Battery — 648Wh of 43V capacity, and part of a cross-compatible battery ecosystem shared with the Fusion. Buy one battery and it moves between two very different setups: on the MAX+ no adaptor is needed at all, while Fusion riders simply add the FM+ Battery Adaptor.

648Wh is enough for a full surf session for most riders, and at 3.95kg it does not weigh the board down the way a bigger pack does. For most people buying a MAX+, this is the one to start with.

Important: Gen2 40V batteries are not compatible with the MAX+. The MAX runs 40V architecture and the MAX+ runs 43V, so the two cannot share batteries or chargers.

Motors

Your motor option is selected with this package, and each one ships complete with its pod and mounting hardware, so there is nothing else to order. All three run the High Power V2 motor — what changes is how it mounts to your mast and how it is propped. Choose the one that suits the mast you ride:

• Retro-Fit High Power Motor Kit — the go-to retro-fit setup. Universal Mini Pod, High Power V2 Motor, Three Blade Hub and Standard Propellers, 20cm removable cable and hardware. Fits any mast brand and goes on or off without tools.
• High Power Motor with Universal Pod and Mast Adaptor — High Power V2 Motor Complete with a Two Blade Propeller, stator puck and 20cm cable, plus the Universal Motor Pod (short and long nose cones and rear half) and the Universal Mast Adaptor, which uses six interchangeable keys to clamp around almost any mast shape.
• High Power Integrated Mast Motor — High Power Stator and Rotor with the Three Blade Hub and Standard Propellers, for integrated alloy or carbon masts.

Between the two retro-fit options: the Mini Pod straps on and comes off without tools and carries the three blade setup, while the Universal Pod and Mast Adaptor bolt together around the mast using sized keys and come propped with two blades.

The Retro-Fit High Power Motor Kit

If you are adding Foil Drive to a foil setup you already own, this is the one. It fits all foil mast brands and installs or comes off without tools, so the same mast works with or without power.

• Universal Mini Pod
  • A clean, low-drag connection between the motor and your mast. Fully removable and adjustable without tools, with interchangeable straps to suit different mast profiles — small 95–110mm, medium 112–128mm, large 130–145mm.
• High Power V2 Motor
  • The most low-end thrust in the range, and more power available through the session.
• Three Blade Hub and Standard Propellers
  • Included as standard. The three blade setup is the all-rounder: more low-end thrust for take-off, less cavitation under load, and a smoother, quieter ride than a two blade.
• 20cm removable motor cable
  • Sets the motor at a versatile height for surf, pumping, wing, downwind, wake and flatwater. Swap the cable for a different length as your setup or riding changes — for dedicated eFoiling, a 60cm or 70cm cable is recommended and sold separately.

Install weight includes unit, battery, integrated High Power motor, three blade hub and props, and nose cone where applicable. A retrofit install with the mini pod mounted at 20cm adds roughly 360g.

Installs On Any Foilboard & Mast

The MAX+ mounts between your mast plate and your board. Foil mast tracks are universal, so it fits any board — sandwich the unit between your existing gear for clean weight distribution and an uncluttered board surface. Retrofit, removable, and compatible with all board types; a custom board is optional and never required.
