From the Shaper

"Still probably the most versatile design of all surfboard craft. If you were stranded on an island for the next 10 years and were only allowed one board this would be my recommendation. Tested from Cardiff Reef to Ulu Watu, Waikiki to Pipe, this is a very trustworthy design. Double foil fins with low cant and toe complimented by the twin pin tail allow this board to reach high speeds and insure hold whenever on the rail."

The REAL Deal

I don't wear skinny jeans. I can't grow a beard. I use duct tape sparingly and I wrote off Christenson boards because I thought that were made exclusively for the hipster crowd. Well I am happy to say that I was 100% wrong about everything to do with Christenson Surfboards.

As the Christenson boards started showing up at REAL, you could immediately tell the difference in quality and attention to finish detail. Agree or disagree with the shapes, but the finish quality on these boards are second to none. From the pin lines, to the polish to the cloth lay ups, these boards are beautiful. Then you start examine the shapes and start thinking,"What is that going to do for you? Check out the taper of that rail. Look at this strange concave placement on the bottom." Then the next thing you know, you are pulling out your credit card and buying a board that you swore off as a trend and that you would never buy.

That is what happened to me and now I am the proud owner of a Christenson Fish. This fish is wild looking. When you examine it closely you see all the subtle fine tuning, flow of the rails, bottom shape and outline. Everything is smooth and looks like it is in the right place.

First session on the Fish was in sub par conditions that the Fish made fell like the best day ever. It was waist high with a slight onshore wind. Paddling this board is a dream as you immediately feel the glide. Stroke into a wave and then you really feel the glide. This board feels like it is hovering over the water. Little pump and wham you are going even faster. Put it on rail and the Fish arcs out of the flats and back into the pocket with minimal effort and NO loss of speed. When I got this board into better surf, it felt electric. I can't wait to surf a point break on it.

I am absolutely in love with this board. To look at it, hold it, surf it, and talk about it, I am so stoked about the Christenson Fish. The performance is unparalleled in small and even medium sized waves. The Christenson Fish just absolutely hauls ass everywhere. It only has one speed... FULL Throttle.

If you are considering a fish, retro fish, or groveler, do yourself a favor and buy a Christenson Fish. You will be the envy of your friends on and off the water.
