Airport Self-Pickup is the most economical way to ship large boards and oversized gear without paying residential freight rates.

How it works. Four steps from order to pickup.

  1. Order with Airport Self-Pickup

    Select Airport Self-Pickup at checkout as a shipping method. A REAL Pro will contact you to confirm the nearest available airport to your shipping address. Option is only available on boards and some oversized gear.

  2. We pack & fly it out

    Airport Self-Pickup shipments depart every two weeks. Your order rides along with the next departure to your selected destination airport.

  3. We notify you before it departs

    Once your order has an assigned flight, you'll get a notification with flight numbers, pickup instructions, and the pickup address.

  4. Pick up at the cargo desk

    Bring a photo ID matching the name on the order and your tracking number. Cargo facilities are typically located at or near the airport - not at the passenger terminal.

How do I track my order?
You'll get an order confirmation email immediately after placing your order. Tracking information will follow when your order has been assigned to a flight the day of departure.
How often do Airport Self-Pickup shipments leave?
We ship Airport Self-Pickup orders every two weeks. Orders placed in the days leading up to a departure ride along with that flight; orders placed just after a departure wait for the next one. Typical time between order placed and arrival at airport is 8–14 business days.
What can I ship via Airport Self-Pickup?
Almost everything -surfboards, foilboards, wingboards, downwind boards, SUPs, oversized gear, and full quivers. A few hazardous-material items (lithium batteries above a certain rating, pressurized canisters) can't fly cargo. Qualifying items will have "Airport Self-Pickup" listed as an available shipping option.
How do I pick up my order at the airport?
Once your shipment arrives, head to the cargo desk at your destination airport. Cargo desks are typically a short drive from the passenger terminal -not at the terminal itself. Bring a photo ID with the name on the order, and your tracking number (a.k.a. Air Waybill Number).
What ID do I need to pick up?
A government-issued photo ID (driver's license or passport) that matches the name on the order. If someone else is picking up for you, email realpro@realwatersports.com with their name so we can change the name BEFORE the shipment departs.
How long do I have to pick up?
Most cargo facilities will hold your shipment free for 48 hours after arrival, then begin charging a daily storage fee. It is your responsibility to monitor your shipment's tracking information (a.k.a. Air Waybill Number) and pickup the board when it arrives. REAL is not responsible for the storage fees or import duties/taxes.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes -we ship worldwide. At checkout, select "Request Shipping Quote" and a REAL Pro will confirm the rate for your destination before processing your order.

Customers are responsible for all import duties, taxes, and customs fees charged by the destination country. These are billed by your local customs authority or carrier on delivery and are not included in the shipping rate we quote.
Can I cancel or change my order before it ships?
Yes -as long as your shipment doesn't have an assigned flight, we can cancel or modify the order. Once your order is has a flight assigned, it cannot be redirected.
