Description

From Slingshot

The UFO V2 kite has been redesigned with the lightest build yet. Our design team reduced the leading edge weight by 25% along with adding a new streamlined bridle system with more premium materials. Riders will instantly feel less drag through the air, the ability to foil in even less wind and an unmatched foiling performance with the all new UFO V2.

Building on the foundation of its predecessor, the UFO V2 expands on the lightweight strutless design by implementing space-age materials that make the kite lighter and even higher performance. The new extended size range allows riders to build a full UFO quiver and utilize the ideal size based on their weight and wind conditions.

Features
  • We have utilized new materials to further progress the UFO's signature lightweight build. The result is a leading-edge material that is 25% lighter than the UFO's predecessor.
  • By using more premium materials, we were able to reduce the bridle-line thickness by 25%. Riders will instantly feel the kite dragging less through the air thanks to this new streamlined bridle.
  • With zero struts, the UFO V2 is incredibly lightweight and able to fly in the lightest of wind conditions.
  • Stripped of all excess to keep it lean, lightweight, and ultra-responsive. Minimal stitching, paneling, and reinforcements keep the UFO streamlined and simple.

Expand Your Range!

In a world of lightweight materials like CoreTex and Aluula, Slingshot took the simple route of slashing those heavy struts, and it worked! The UFO is a phenom on the lightest wind days, its unique design makes for a flowy, machine of a foil kite. As a 160 lbs rider, the 8m can cover a wind envelope larger than anything I have flown. If you foil, you need this kite in your inventory. Get ready for alien light wind performance!

Great foil kite

As a 155lb rider, I took out the 7m UFO in 17mph winds (15-20mph) with a foil setup (1000 front wing) and had a great session. The bar pressure is moderate and makes it easy to track the kite by feel. The kite develops power very smoothly and dumps the pull almost entirely with the bar sheeted out. So far relaunching this kite has been almost automatic, although I have not ventured into extremely light wind with it. . .yet.

It will flutter sometimes when passing through the power zone, but without a center strut, I find this to be somewhat expected and more of an aesthetic issue.

Buy This Kite

I could write a lot about this kite, but simply put its amazing. Obviously it’s a foiling specific kite, but If you want a kite that takes foiling from fun to enthralling, then buy this kite. It’s insanely fun, fast, stable, drifts, has so much power when you move it, but also depowers very well. The wind range is impressive and practically relaunches itself, literally. Slingshot nailed this kite design. Did I already say you should buy this kite? Buy it, you won’t be disappointed!

Livey, fun, crazy, I love it!

I got to try the 7m UFO V2 recently, and I was blown away by how much fun I had. The best way to describe the kite is lively. Flying that kite is like taking a wild puppy for a walk. High energy, all over the place, fast, spontaneous, just fun. The power delivery on it is very different than anything else. The power is not always intuitive or what you would normally expect from a kite, and that probably has to do with the fact it doesn't have any struts. Sometimes you have less power than you would think, and it has a lot of pull when directly overhead. But overall, its just a hell of a lot of fun. I also purposely dropped the kite a few times and found it easier to relaunch than the V1. The V2 does seem to be noticeably better than the V1. The earlier one would kind of swing wide when powered and was a little less controllable. This new one has better overall control to it, and its just endless fun. Can't wait to try it in more sizes.
