Slingshot Alien Air Foilboard-4'8"

I am a self sufficient kiter/surfer and have been working on kiting on a directional. I decided to mix up my sessions by learning how to foil.

The Alien Air is the first foil I've tried, but I found it maneuverable and stable. My first rides were behind a jet ski with a front foot strap to help navigate my footing. First, I worked on riding the board without moving to the mast right away. The board is stable which allowed me to focus on balancing my weight and dial in the rest! I started with the 24” mast and then went to the 30".

This board was exactly what I needed for my first attempt at kite foiling. I rode it in combination with a Slingshot SST kite in moderate wind, a 24 inch mast and the Slingshot Hover Glide NF2 foil.
I'm an intermediate kiter but very experienced surfer and board rider. I've been dying for the conditions and opportunity to line up to attempt foiling and knew that my kite skills would be the weak link. I needed a board that would allow to get up and ride quickly.
I rode this board with just the front strap and found that to be very helpful for getting up and riding. The increased volume of this board gave me a stable platform to ride without much power before getting up on foil.
I had many successful foil rides but "dolphined" a few times due to inexperience. I was astonished at how forgiving the board was and how quick it was to jump back up on plane, allow me to readjust and get back up on foil. The increased rocker in the nose kept me from pearling several times.
I'm psyched on this board and know it will keep progressing along with me as I get longer rides and continue to devote more time to kite foiling.

The Alien is an amazing beginner board for kite foiling. Having so much volume, it makes starting off a breeze. When you are learning to foil and you start "bunny hopping" it makes it doable due to the fact the board rarely sinks in the water. When you are on a board with less volume the board will sink under the water usually causing you to fall off. With this board you stay floating the entire time which means more time on the water, less time in the water.

Only downside to this board is the weight. It is a bit heavier and a little bit bulky which can make carrying or traveling a little bit harder. Other then that I would recommend this board to anyone who is learning how to foil.
