The AppleSlice Prone is built from Appletree’s proven foil-board DNA and refined into a compact, high-performance platform for prone foil riders looking to progress. It is designed for ambitious intermediate riders through seasoned pros who want explosive response, early lift, and precise control in steep, high-speed surf.
Designed for Progression
A fuller outline supports efficient paddling and smooth takeoffs, while the tuned lift profile helps the board release early and confidently. Increased nose lift adds control on steeper drops, and aggressive bevels with harder edge lines allow smoother rail transitions, quick release, and better clearance when carving at speed or moving through foam.
Key Design Features
The V nose adds front-end stability during paddling and takeoff, reducing chatter in critical moments. Performance rail lines are tuned for smooth, high-speed carving transitions, while beveled rails provide extra clearance during aggressive turns to help prevent catches.
The soft water entry creates gentle rail-to-water engagement for uninterrupted flow, and the balanced lift distribution gives the board pronounced front-end lift for fast, easy pop-ups in steep sections. Offset rear inserts and V front inserts allow adaptable, ergonomic foot positioning for different stances and conditions.
Foil Setup
Larger sizes feature a forward foil box placement to improve balance and compatibility with smaller foils in bigger surf or stronger wind conditions. The board uses FUTURES Oneshot foil boxes set into an ultra-high-density PET honeycomb panel, with carbon reinforcement inside and outside the board for a strong foil-to-board connection.
Construction
The AppleSlice Prone is produced in Appletree’s 100% carbon fiber foil-board construction. Its 50K closed-cell foam core is designed to stay light, flexible, and resistant to water absorption. Carbon fiber construction adds stiffness, strength, and responsiveness, helping improve foil control and pumping efficiency.
Appletree uses an in-house vacuum lamination process, layering carbon fiber and reinforcements dry before injecting epoxy resin under pressure. This creates a tight lamination with strong core connection, while extra patches under the feet help reduce heel denting. Inserts are made from high-density blocks fused to the core and can be customized position-wise.
