2024 North Reach Kite

Been loving the new Reach this year. Took it on a trip to Fiji last summer and it worked amazing in the good waves and for foiling on the flat water side of the island. Kite is very comfortable to fly, lighter bar pressure, which makes it very easy on the rider. Snappy steering when redirecting and good drift when going down the line. The kite feels so solid and the attention to detail on the construction of the kite is very noticeable. Also been riding it here at home in some gusty side-off conditions and the kite handles. I would recommend this kite to anyone who wants to do it all, freeride, surf, or foil.

The North Reach has held a notable place in recent years as one of the best "Do it all" kites on the market. If you are looking to replace your current quiver or you've been looking at the Reach for a while, the 2024 model is your time to upgrade.

This year North has gone far in improving the kite's construction, with the HI-Tech lighter-weight, stronger N-Max Dacron used on the leading edge and N-HTRS High Performance canopy. Should you choose to invest in the Reach now, you can know that it will last.

I am a 160 lbs, Advanced rider that has flown the Reach in many different conditions and settings and I can guarantee you that the Reach was never the wrong choice for the job. I have had many amazing boosting sessions in heavier air under the Reach, practicing loops trusting the Reach's ability to catch me. I've foiled the Reach, heavily impressed in its ability to relaunch in very light wind. As a coach, the Reach is my go-to, demonstrating extremely easy relaunch and flying characteristics for new riders.

The 2024 Reach is noticeably different than its previous iteration. You can feel how much lighter the kite is by how directly it steers and how intuitively it flies. One of my all time favorite kites, my go-to for most conditions and disciplines. It is a tried and true desert island kite, and one I would recommend from beginner to really advanced riders.

North is paying extreme attention to the quality and performance of their materials, and it shows. The Reach continues to feel more and more intuitive each year, and has an impressive amount of low and high end. This kite is heaven when it loops, whether that’s down looping in the surf/foiling or doing powered kite loops in big air; the kite stays powered and smooth turning through the entirety of the wind window.

All in all, if I was limited to one model of kite I would pick this one every time. It does so many disciplines extremely well and never fails.
