Lopez family summer vacation on the Outer Banks

World renowned professional surfer Cory Lopez and his family know a good summer vacation when they see it. Their last seven months saw them trotting the globe to find the best waves and contests in the world. 

One stop that’s always on the “Lopez World Tour” is a trip to Cape Hatteras mid summer to stay with us at Watermen’s Retreat. With a wide variety of consistent surf, warm water, and four wheel drive access to track down your own peak, this stretch of coastline is an easy drive-to surf score for families mid summer when the kids’ schedules loosen up.
