How to Properly Maintain Your Foil Drive

Foil Drive Maintenance Check List:

Every Session

  • Rinse w/ fresh water
  • Rinse blades to remove sand
  • Remove prop rotor and rinse. Leave rotor off to dry
  • Rinse controller

Every 3 Sessions

  • Spray the stator with Lanolin spray

Every 10 Sessions

  • Light marine grease stator bearing and rotor spindle.
  • Battery grease battery terminals

Every 20 Sessions/Month/Winter storage

  • Remove the box from board, rinse, and dry underneath.
  • Remove the mast from box, rinse and air dry.
  • Wipe down the computer box with lanolin spray once clean and dry
  • Teflon grease mast mounting screw before resetting the mast to computer box.
  • Battery grease ring on motor cable mount
  • Teflon grease motor cable set screws that go into computer box
  • Tighten prop screws and make sure the prop blade folds with minimal effort

Winter Storage

  • Battery at 50%
  • Battery grease terminal
  • Disassemble the mast from board and computer box
  • Remove rotor hub from stator
