from 1578 reviewsComing off the cfv2 950 and on to the ma mkii 790 and surf 200 tail. Here is what I experienced first session.
1) super stiff / connected. Feels much better, more substantial if you will. That said, I am using more front foot pressure vs the old
2) fast. Much faster!
3) the glide is insane
4) love the way it moves and the carving turns are great. Much more nimble/agile.
5) improved upwind performance. Serious VMG. Even toe side it tracks a tighter angle to the wind
Very happy with it all!
Good lightweight no frills foil bar that really lets your sessions extend without drying your arms and shoulders. Throw is super long. Bar pressure feels a lot lighter compared to other bars which lets you focus more on the foil than the kite. Overall really like this if you’re super dedicated to kitefoiling.
Great midlength shape that has stability on takeoff with the long rails to get up super easy. Very lightweight and not a lot of meat in the nose so the swing weight feels super light on this. I personally love the traction and grip it offers.
Lightweight and the rocker profile is great to hold down a lot of power. I like the 136/138 at 160lbs - intermediate level rider.
This mast feels a lot more stiff and direct compared to the previous gen. You get almost instant feedback and drive down into your foil. Works great winging, kiting, and pretty much any other discipline unless you need super high glide efficiency, in which case go for the X mast. Armstrong build quality is always great!
I am really impressed with the upgrade from V1 to V2. The wing itself is more stable in flight and you can actually pump against it to get onto foil. The lines are shorter and thicker than V1 and I have had zero redeploy tangles. I am a fan of the V1, and if you want to save some $ they are excellent. If you want a significant improvement in stability and redeploy V2 is the way to go. I do feel like you lose maybe 10% of top end vs V1, but you gain easily more than that on bottom end so overall range is wider for sure.
Core bars are by far the best bars on the market in my opinion. I flew the Sensor 3s a ton, and this bar has made some really good upgrades. When you run the lines for the first time on this one, it can be a little confusing compared to the Sensor 3s. Once you take a moment to look at the center lines and how everything works going up to the high v split, it becomes second nature. I really like the auto untwist feature, and the grip & bar feel has gotten even better. This thing feels so good in your hands! After marathon sessions, the bar’s comfort has my hands feeling great. So worth giving it a try if you haven’t already!
I flew the XR8 a ton in my beginner days of kiting, as it gave me a ton of stability and hang time in the air, and boosted my confidence. Now being more advanced, I’m psyched I’ve been able to get a ton of sessions on the XRX, and my favorite kite got even better with this generation. Still has that explosive boosting, easy flying, good bar feel, and most of all, insane hang time and stability in the air. Now, this kite is even stiffer and lighter than the XR8, which can really be felt when sending the kite and carving upwind into a jump; the steering is just so precise and it gives you so much pop. The lightness can really be felt in the larger sizes too, and I’ve had a ton of fun on the 13.5m because of it. In the air, the hang time and lift is phenomenal, and this kite has given me the stability and confidence to learn heli loops & jump higher than I ever have before. Can’t wait to keep sessioning this one!
I have been insanely happy with the performance and comfort of this harness. It has a nice stiff backplate that covers a large surface area, which feels great edging upwind and in jumps. The ratchet design is super convenient, and allows you to get the perfect amount of tension/support on your abdomen. I really like that just a few clicks can have the spreader bar tightened down perfectly, whether you’re kiting with no shirt, a wetsuit, or impact vest; no need to adjust any straps. This harness feels so good and solid on nuking days and lighter days alike, and I’m excited to test out the Ride Engine surf slider rope with it soon.
The brainchild construction makes this kite so good in the lighter wind. High aspect shape turns quick and lets you keep the kite dead center in the wind wind to plow upwind easy. My go to light wind kite, makes 15mph sessions super fun. You can still ride a small board and boost hard in super light conditions.
Great Board and very fast Delivery, very happy with the foil board and that I got it fast made it Christmas in the summer time.
Just got out of the water after riding the 9'8" The Gem from the REAL Rental Shop. The waves were only about thigh-high, peaky, and pretty inconsistent, but this board made them a lot of fun. It paddles into waves really easily with the wide nose and single concave, but what impressed me most was how well it held a line once I was up. It trimmed down the face surprisingly well, and when I wanted to turn, it rolled onto rail without feeling sluggish. Super fun board that catches everything but still feels playful.

The Pocket Rocket v2 is great. Rock steady compared other parawings I've tried to ride. Low end is surprising <20 and @ 25 I'm still able to hold on. Got blown off it today as wind gusts were 30 and some chop but no complaints. I think I've crossed over to the dark side of the force.
Core has been owning the "best bar on the market" title for years now, and the 4S is no exception. Every time I try a different bar I am stoked to go back to my Core Sensor bar which is a great sign. This bar has so many nice features on it that when you add it all up, makes it exceptional. The auto untwist of the center lines for me is my favorite, this bar does it better than any other out there. Its clean and friction-less, and you don't have to think about it; it just works. I really like that the 4S now has the ability to change the bar inserts easily. The bar inserts are a maintenance wear item that do need to be replaced periodically, and this was a pretty big PIA on previous versions, so glad to see this change. The bar grip is a perfect size in the hand. The bar ends that open up to spool up your line then close for your session are awesome. It keeps the bar compact and light, rather than a lot of other brands that have these huge chunky EVA foam bar ends that feel bulky and are always giving a little bit of input into your steering lines. The CORE line material is also top tier. I've never had issues with the Core bars having weird line stretch or premature wear and I've been using CORE bars for 10 years now. Lastly the bar looks great visually and the new colors on the 4S look great.
