The Liquid Force Impulse is the best Surf/Kite/Wake cross-over foil on the market. It has enough lift to surf foil this set up, it is perfect for wake surfing and you can kite in the lightest winds possible at speeds not attainable with other surf foils.

The wings were designed in collaboration with Cloud IX Surf Foils and they have made a very refined carbon composite wing set. These wings have a lot of glide, no vibration and are really efficient. The fuselage is full carbon and it has two attachment settings for the rear wing that will shorten or lengthen the turning radius.

Liquid Force was the first company to manufacture a modular aluminum hydro foil, so they know the manufacturing end. The Impulse mast are reinforced to take the beatings of rolling through the surf. You can buy the complete set with the 60cm mast which will be better for surf and wake foiling or you can buy it with the 94.5cm mast which is best suited for kiteboarding.

The Impulse is the only surf foil in the market that comes with wing covers and a padded travel bag for your foil.

How the Liquid Force Impulse kiteboards:
If you want a light wind weapon that goes in the lightest winds, rides fast and has a butter smooth ride, then the Impulse is the call. It does so well at kiting, you forget that it was originally designed as a surf foil. The 60cm mast will be easier to learn on but in heavier chop you will want the 94.5cm.

The Impulse is very user-friendly to kite and we are recommending this foil as the go to best advanced beginner friendly foil on the market. Since it does not have a super short 40cm mast available we cannot give it the highest beginner marks, but most people are able to learn to foil in their first day with the 60cm mast.

How the Liquid Force Impulse surfs:
The Impulse is really smooth. There is no bouncing around or jerkiness to this foil. You can tell just by looking at the wings that these are precision wings and will fly well through the water. Your first ride, you will notice the difference.

The variable wing setting on the fuselage is a great feature that we loved. We started with the wings farther apart and this makes the foil feel really stable and solid when you are over the water. As you progress you can move the back wing in and it becomes a turning machine. It is like having two foils in one with this feature.

The front wing is the size of other brand’s medium wing. This means that you can ride faster, longer and have more performance but it will suffer on ultra slow speed lift off. Bigger riders over 200 Lbs will have a little harder time learning to prone surf on this, but the long term performance of this foil will make it work the big guy struggle at the beginning. Mid to smaller riders will get plenty of lift out of the Impulse to surf foil.

How the Liquid Force Impulse wakeboards:
The Impulse glides forever. You maintain your speeds and can get in and out of the wake easily. When you cross over the white water wash it does not get squirrelly like most foils.

We loved the shorter fuselage back wing placement behind the boat. On the short curve of the way you can really pump and turn to stay on foil with out the rope.
