The 2018 Naish Above The Bar(ATB) control system has an above the bar depower system for those that prefer it over the flagship Naish BTB system.

What we like:

This bar comes in a one size fits all set up. It is a 55cm bar that you can remove the plastic inserts in the end to shorten the effective bar length and make it a 50cm. Naish created this system and now they have line adjustment knots so you can easily adjust the line length if necessary.

The below bar swivel is easy to unwind your center lines by hand. Since the swivel added a little extra length below the bar, they have a slightly smaller chicken loop to keep you close to the bar.

The lines are high quality colored lines with red on the left of the bar and the left grip and bar float is red. This is a huge safety feature that most other brands have moved away from to make their bar look cool by using other colors. By having grey center lines, red left line and blue right, you will not mess up rigging your kite. When you are launching or finishing unspinning the bar the red grip and bar end on the left will ensure you don’t mess up and grab the wrong side of the bar.

You can change the amount of throw that you have by moving the depower cleat up or down on the center line. You need to do this while there is no tension on the lines.

The ring that you attach your leash to can be set up as a suicide leash by passing the chicken loop through this ring before closing the safety. This works awesome for advanced unhooked tricks that you might be dropping your bar with. If you activate the safety while the bar is set up suicide, the kite will still flag out since you are hooked to the flagging line. This is much safer than hooking your leash to above the chicken loop like most people do.

Why you want the ATB Naish Bar:

If want more leverage on depowering the kite and less throw then go ATB. You can grab that line and depower this bar with ease. If you want the max amount of throw and easy access to the deposed line then go with the Torque BTB bar.
