Tomo Evo Surfboard

Tomo Evo

EVO (Evolution) is a new take on the MPH design, for a more ‘in the pocket’ line of attack. The EVO should be considered favorable to smaller weaker waves, however, the EVO will still be quite functional in overhead waves conditions.

The REAL Deal

My first session on the Evo was on the tail end of a good run of swell, with some punchy but small waves. The boards ability to catch these small waves was surprising but it wasn't until I got to me feet that the Evo really blew me away. The waves were closing fast, and I really did not expect to catch anything but white water but the Evo came through, and made a great session.

As soon as you get on your feet with this board if you get one pump off the bottom it takes off like a bullet. The Evo is exceptionally fast, and launches out of turns with tons of speed to encourage radical surfing. The board will lock into a carve off the rail really well, but can be turned really quickly off the tail as well. If you are looking for a board to improve your short board game, The Evo is a great choice. I found myself making more turns, cruising through flat sections, and riding small surf better than ever. You gotta try one! I will update this review once I get this board in the surf it was designed for but after my small wave experience I am confident it will be mind blowing when the surf gets head high.
