The REAL Deal

The FCD Foil Surfboard looks like an alien craft and when you foil on it, you feel like you just landed from outer space. This board was designed for maximum glide to combat the additional drag while paddling the foil.

What We Like

The team at FCD designed this board to have maximum glide while paddling and they succeeded. This board paddles better than anything on the market. They started by taking the bottom shape of prone paddle boards. Using those design characteristics, they made a foil surfboard that has float, paddles well and is really balanced. We found that the FCD paddles better than foil surfboards that are one or two sizes bigger than the FCD.

The concave deck lets your chest sink into the board and makes you feel really balanced on the board while paddling. Once you stand up you don't notice the concave and the board feels really balanced under foot.

The nose has the right amount of volume and flip in the tip that will keep you from pearling when you come off of foil.

The EPS construction feels nice and light under foil and while on foil. The reduced swing weight allows the foil to feel more responsive.

Insider Info

The FCD uses high end boxes and a nice carbon patch over those boxes. That being said you should use a spacer like the Liquid Force Transition Plate to protect the board. There is a lot of torque on a foil and you should have a buffer between the board and the foil mount.

The mast track system allows you to move your foil around to find the right balance point for you. Different weights, waves sizes and ability levels will cause you to move your foil forward or backward on the mast track.

Our recommendation for those just getting into foiling is to start with the mast in the middle of the mast track system. If your board is coming out of the water too easily move the foil back toward the tail a little. If your board is not coming out of the water easily enough move the foil forward toward the nose.

The bigger the board, the easier it is to catch small waves. Bigger boards also have a bigger sweet spot. Smaller boards will be harder to catch smaller waves, but they will be better for pumping and turning.

Why You Want This Board

The FCD Foil Surfboard is an amazing product that works really well for foil surfing. This board will work for beginner to advanced riders. A quality board does make a difference in foiling and when you ride the FCD you will understand the benefits.
