Normal polyester surfboards are not strong enough for the demands of kitesurfing, and typically break after a few sessions. Most production kitesurf boards are made with epoxy resin, and relatively low-cost molded and basic lay-up construction processes. In order to make them strong enough for kitesurfing, many of the production kitesurf boards are very heavy and stiff compared to polyester surfboards. In addition, most production kitesurfing boards are machine shaped, and based on unproven designs. We hear from all the kitesurfers, particularly pros, that they need really good surfboard shapes to ride waves with a kite and the best kitesurfers all prefer to ride surfboards by true surfboard shapers rather than directional production kitesurf boards.
Resin8 surfboards are built with a unique hand shaped, hand laminated, vacuum formed composite process, resulting in unparalleled quality and performance. Unlike normal surfboards; Resin8’s are designed without a stringer, allowing them to flex like Twintip Kiteboards. In order to meet the growing demand we have started Resin8 surfboards with inserts so Kitesurfers can install straps for Kitesurfing.
