Description
The Patagonia R3 Hooded wetsuit is HOT.
The R3 Hooded feels similar to a 5/4 from most other brands. The Merino wool lining is not a gimmick. It doesn't itch or stink like everyone thought it would. It just keeps you warm in the water. The craftsmanship of the R3 is top end and Patagonia backs it up with their Iron Clad Guarantee that will buy your suit back if you don't think it performs the way that it should.
Patagonia R3 Tech Specs:
• Chest Zip with connected hood
• Merino internal lining
• Super glued and blind stitched seams
• Ironclad Guarantee
What we like:
Patagonia makes strong wetsuits that are built to last. You have to pay a bit more on the front end, but you get it back over time. Their Iron Clad Guarantee is unbelievable too since it gives you confidence to invest in a top end product like the R3. The Merino wool in the hood makes this wetsuit extra warm for cold duck dives.
What we didn't like:
The chest zipper can slide open if you don't check on it. There is a small loop there to keep this from happening, so use it.
Why you want the R3:
Patagonia spends the time, money and effort to make top quality products and it is no different with their wetsuits.
Patagonia's Description:
Patagonia wetsuits are decidedly warmer than standard nylon-lined suits. But that’s not all. They also wear longer, dry faster and are more environmentally conscious than other suits.
The R3 is best suited for water temps from 48-55° F / 8-12° C
Made for cold water with 3mm neoprene lined with chlorine-free merino wool.
The new R3 has been redesigned with no smooth skin rubber. This adds to the durability and stretch of the ultimate cold weather wetsuit.
All Patagonia wetsuits are covered by the Patagonia Ironclad Guarantee.
