Watermen’s Retreat has already proven itself with dedicated sports enthusiasts, but what about mixed groups or families? Watermen’s features a very family friendly resort atmosphere where everyone can have fun, from infants to grandparents. With so many of our clients having kids, it’s satisfying to watch them still taking sessions every day from Watermen’s, as Mom and their newborn watch on from the great room. After an hour or so on the water, “tag out” and let Mom take her session! It’s literally that easy. No car, no hassles, no checking the conditions. Kids 7-12 years old can enroll in REAL Kids Camp and learn how to kiteboard, surf and standup paddleboard. Parents and Grandparents can take in all the action from the outdoor decks or grab a bite to eat at Mojo’s Sunset Café and watch from there. The Kona Summer Concert Series features live music every week on our waterfront stage. These events are family friendly, as you watch kids (and new friends!) playing soccer on the huge waterfront field and parents cutting it up on the dance floor.

Watermen’s Retreat is the proud host of the Triple-S Invitational (#1 professional kiteboarding event in the world) as well as the ESA EASTERNS Surfing Championships (the largest amateur surfing organization in the world). Watermen’s Retreat also hosts weddings and group events with the largest waterfront lawn on the Outer Banks.
