REAL International Teamriders Brandon Scheid and Josh Mulcoy have both been nominated for AWSI Kiteboarder of the Year. Voting is OPEN thru July 5th.
Brandon Scheid comes from the Slicks and Sliders side of the sport, with back-to-back overall wins at the 2010 and 2011 Triple-S Invitational. Brandon’s style combines innovation with impressive power and commands international respect among his peers. Not to be undersold, Brandon’s surf skills have been key in securing his overall Triple-S victories. Brandon plans on rolling with the REAL Peru trip this Summer to push this portion of his riding even further.
Josh Mulcoy comes from a lifetime of professional surfing and is the first professional surfer to push the limits of kitesurfing. Josh recently racked up back-to-back 2nd place SURF victories at the 2010 and 2011 Triple-S Invitational. Josh’s style is full rail power with a VERY smooth line on the wave, completely unaffected by the pull of the kite. Watching Josh surf or kitesurf are nearly identical and he now has many surfers looking at kitesurfing with a heightened sense of interest. The remainder of Josh’s year will be filled with kite and surf trips around the world, including Cape Hatteras in September.
REAL is proud to have Brandon and Josh on our team. They both represent the leading edge of our sport and are great ambassadors on and of the water!
