For those of you that have been following the sidewalk project, we want to let you know that the grants we were working on have been APPROVED!!!!!!
State of North Carolina pitched in $1.9 million dollars
Local Contributions and additional grants : $400,000+
We made it to the finish line!!!
This means:
5ft wide concrete sidewalk from Rodanthe/Waves/Salvo Community building all the way to SDA on the sound side of the highway.
Also....
5ft wide concrete sidewalk from first turnout north of Avon to first turnout south of AVon, sound side of highway.
They have to go through a bidding process with the contractors, then surveying, then building. Right now, it's looking like a Winter 2011/2012 buildout.
