Sauble Beach Kite Jam Event Site

REAL team riders Eric Rienstra, Brian “BCS” Smith, and Brandon Scheid take the top spots at last weekends Sauble Beach Kite Jam.

The Sauble Beach Kite Jam was organized by Sam and Dan Medysky, of Kiterider.ca, and took place in Sauble Beach, Ontario. The event was a great success with good conditions all weekend. The event kicked off with some demos and clinics for the public on Friday. It was great to see so many people on the beach interested in kiting, up in Canada they have totally embraced the sport of kiteboarding. Saturday was a little lighter, which made for perfect wakeboarding conditions. There were several features out in the water which made for a great rail jam session. It was fun to watch all the pros and amateurs throw it down for the crowd lining the beach.

Sunday saw much better conditions with 15-20mph onshore winds and blue skies. Everyone got on the water, at one point there were more than 50+ kites in the air! There was a freestyle expression session, which allowed the crowd to see lots of different types of riding; from surf style, wakeskate, buggy, wake style and even some old school, it was all going down! The event was wrapped up with some live music and a fun awards ceremony. All in all it was a great event for both Sauble Beach and for kiteboarding.

Big thanks to all the event sponsors; Liquid Force, Best, SBC, Dakine, OKA, and Sam and Dan Medysky of Kiterider.ca for organizing such a great event. Looks like next years event will be even bigger and better!

Final results:
1st place - Brandon Scheid
2nd place - Eric Rienstra
3rd place - Brian "BCS" Smith
4th place - local boy Elliot Drury
