REAL Watersports celebrated our 8th year anniversary this past weekend aboard the Crystal Dawn with Dub Island Sound System of Charleston, SC jamming out the tunes all night long. Delicious food and drinks were served by Kylie Simpson and the staff of The Outback Kitchen. The party was sponsored by Naish Hawaii.

Some of the REAL Kite Team traveled to the Hood River Gorge to compete in the 2nd Wind and Slider Projects Slider Jam. This is a recap of their travels. Be sure to check out the video and slide show.

Friday, June 5th saw the final day of the 2009 Triple-S Invitational in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. Strong SW winds buffeted the Outer Banks and a full day of kiting and partying was on tap for everyone involved.

The 2009 Triple-S Invitational continued to fire all day on Wednesday, June 3rd with perfect SW winds in the 25mph range and blue sunny skies. Riders headed back up to The Slick for a day of REAL Slider Park action!

Tuesday’s riding took place entirely in The Slick with the entire REAL Slider Park set up including the REAL Funbox and Flatbar, REAL Kicker and the new John Wayne Cancer Foundation Slider.

The 2009 Triple-S Invitational kicked off on Saturday, May 30th with the official Triple-S Welcome Dinner and Opening Ceremonies Party. The Triple-S Invited riders and the public were treated to a classic Carolina BBQ Pig Roast with all the trimmings outside right on the water at The Slick.

The Triple-S Invitational attracts the top freeride kiteboarders in the world. The final list of invited riders and wildcard winners for the 2009 Triple-S Invitational includes:

Part of this year’s Triple-S Invitational was the expansion of the “Wild Card” entry opportunities to 3 positions. This will allow for new talent to make it into the Triple-S Invitational each year through this competitive wild card entry process.
