The 2011 Triple-S Invitational will be held in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina on June 4th – 10th, 2011. Make your reservations now because it just keeps getting better every year!

Dub Island kicked off the Awards Ceremonies at 6pm and then backed up event MC Trip Forman as he ran through the rider introductions and the Triple-S poster autograph session. The crowd went wild as the athletes took to the stage in anticipation of the final event results.

“Triple-S” stands for Surf, Slick and Sliders. With “Slicks and Sliders” completed, the only discipline left to conquer was the “Surf”. Triple-S event Co-Director Trip Forman made the call for kites up at 7am at Ramp 55 south of Hatteras Village. “We had strong SW winds Wednesday afternoon and all night into Thursday, where the wind was going to continue to clock WSW then W. Putting the crew down there at sunrise was the call for achieving the best conditions for surf kiting.”

Sunday’s Triple-S riding action was divided into 2 sessions. The first was a “balls out”, nuking downwinder from The Planet of the Apes back to REAL. This 8-mile run showcases some of the best flatwater riding Cape Hattera has to offer, as well as multiple land gaps and natural silders, such as docks, gazebos, duck blinds, etc.

The first day of the 2010 Triple-S Invitational boasted A+ conditions. With 20 knot SW winds in place, a classic Cape Hatteras Slick and Slider session took place. The REAL Slider Park was set up right out front of the REAL Flagship Store.
