Surf film with artistic angle
by Trip Forman on December 15, 2010
These aren't surf films for the aerial junky looking for loud music and the latest moves. What these dvds have is SOLID content, really cool story lines, interesting surf culture, artistic video angles, and a bit of surf history. You come away from each knowing a lot more than before you watched it, as well you feel like you have more insight on a lot of things you knew nothing about before. Both films are by Patrick Trefz and both are keepers in your collection. Idiosycrasies by itself is worth $29, the fact that you get "Threads" for Free is a bonus (and also worth another $29). The Josh and Bill Mulcoy segment at the end of Idiosyncrasies has a bit of everything : sick pro level surfing, Josh's dad Bill killing it and the legend of the Santa Cruz Harbor surfbreak.
