Future Shapes Technology (FST)
FST relies primarily on the PARABOLIC Balsa Rail to control flex while the high density aerospace composite vacuumed to both top and bottom decks provides significant impact strength, and is stronger than the traditional PU surfboard. The 1lb interior core holds the shape and provides flotation, allowing the board to seamlessly follow the flex characteristics of the Parabolic rails coupled with the deck skins.

The Parabolic Balsa Rail features 12mm balsa built from 3 x 4mm strips, which as mentioned not only control flex and add strength, but also act as a buffer against rail dings. Furthermore, the long-term flex memory supplied by the balsa rails ensures boards maintain their lively feel for longer. In addition, we've worked closely with Felix Pivec to reinforce both the top deck lamination and the internal sandwich construction to handle the added compression of kitesurfing. We feel we've achieved the right balance between flex, weight and durability.

I picked this board up for the first time in the Spring 2012. It was NE and there were large lines rolling through. The combo of NE wind and bowly lefts made me pretty giddy! Armed with an 8m and the Firewire 5'11 it was always going to be a good session!

The board rides deep, cutting through the water beautifully with minimal impact from side chop. The thin rails and width of the board allow it to really sythe through the water. On a wave and it really comes into its own, the board was designed to be really responsive in bigger conditions and this shows. A narrow and slight tail block literally allows you to smash the lip as hard as you can and there is more to give even for the powerful guys. For big days this is awesome as you can truly slow yourself down and find the pocket of the wave, something not many kiteboards can really do!

This board is my go to big wave stick. Its absolutely rips. The only downside is the low end. It does not like being under powered and therefore does not drive upwind that well.

This board is the perfect addition to the your kitesurf quiver for the big days and when you know you are travelling to decent waves.

REALpro Tip: Ride it strapless for a core surf feel and give it plenty of kite power. It can handle it.
