Description
Mick Fanning's signature MF-2 features the same construction, foil and outline as the MF-1 but on a smaller template. This medium size fin has a dynamic flex, is ideal for long arc turns, and is designed for high performance power surfing. Performance Core (PC) construction produces a lightweight fin with a stiff base and responsive tip flex. This translates into immediate start-up acceleration and a direct transfer of energy from the surfer to the fin. The MF-1 also features TRICOIL technology. This dynamic flex pattern is achieved through the multi-axial carbon frame inside the fin. Tricoil flex effectively stores and releases energy as the surfer transitions from one turn into the next.
SIZE IS POWER
The long leading edge plus the high degree of sweep angle provides control when driving off the bottom or carving through turns on the open face.
TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE
In contrast to its size, the FCS MF-2 feels fast and lively, why?
1. The fin is considerably thinner than other fins to help it cut through the water and add bite to your turns.
2. A bevelled leading edge makes for smoother transitions between turns.
3. It has Tricoil Technology; in this case a customised multi-axial carbon frame inside the fin produces a flex pattern that not only stores and releases energy, but provides a 'whipping' sensation when you perform tight manoeuvres off the top.
