Awesome Experience!!!
by James DeBeer on May 4, 2013
These pros are always "on it"!!! I drove down from NJ for the Zero to Hero and Evo Camps. You WILL learn in a full on immersion kite boot camp. I learned so much from the VERY patient trainers. I'd especially like to send a shout out to my personal trainers Andrew and Joanna: You guys Rock! Chris, the training coordinator, was more than cool when I had to leave Hatteras early. On my next trip down, after practicing at Lakes Bay, I should be ready to shred the last 2 days of Evo Camp. Zero to Hero was a blast. Hint: make sure you sunscreen up before getting on the water...your face will thank you.

Real Story!
by Omar feliciano on March 18, 2013
Just completed the evolution camp! In just 3 days Real had me jumping, down looping , executing surface 180s, riding toeside and much more. Unbelievable! This is a great place! a special thanks to the coach , "Julien Kepski". He was extremely knowledgeable, and thanks to him I'm a better kiteboarder.......

Great Place
by Alberto Gonzalez on August 2, 2012
Totally stoked upon completing the EVO Kite Camp at Real Watersports, Cape Hatteras. I learned more in the first ten minutes of camp than in the 4 half-day private lessons that I took in Miami Beach before coming to Real.
You learn from some of the best riders in the world, but you'd never know it from just talking to them. Super friendly, down-to-earth staff that take the time and patience to teach you things the right way. My goals coming into camp were to be able to waterstart consistently and get riding in both directions with some upwind capability. I was able to meet all my goals and experience even more about the sport making me a safe, self-sufficient kiteboarder.
All the instructors at real were always willing to talk about kiteboarding and give out great tips and info, even though they weren't my direct coaches. The conditions during camp were all over the place from light breezes to nuking gusts, so I was given the chance to try out a bunch of different gear in all conditions. I progressed way beyond my expectations in three short days and took in some of the best rides of my life.
The sales team at Real was second to none-they made sure to talk to me about the gear that was right for me, given my ability and riding style. They weren't out repping brands based on sales incentives. Can't wait to come back and take in more sessions-Thanks Real!

just do it!
by saj on July 9, 2012
General: friendly staff
Instruction: excellent with lots of patience.
Money plus your time investment: if you can ride with the sore back then you will accomplish your milestone out of it as long as it is realistic.
It is definitely for folks who are familiar with general kite behavior and understand and have experienced it...for them getting and staying upwind and mild jumps is doable goal. Luke was my instructor and he did a great job. Cheers.

REAL Rocks!
by Todd Meyer on July 9, 2011
Just to let you know, I spent the day watching my friend at the kite surfing school here in Italy. What a difference! I'm so stoked I learned in Cape Hatteras at REAL.
Truly a different caliber. I bit my tongue more than a few times, and it was a bit frustrating for sure. It's almost like steeping back in time when I see how they teach, compared to how I learned at REAL.
I feel that I could have taught a better lesson than this instructor! REAL rocks. thanks for putting me on the fast track.

Call me a kiteboarder
by Jaqueline L on March 2, 2011
Yeah, I'm really thrilled with the breakthrough I made the evolution camp on my real trip. Getting upwind efficiently sets me up for an excellent summer in Hood River. Before I went to Real, I heard it was the gold standard of kiteboard schools/experience. It's all true! I feel like I can finally call myself a kiteboarder.

Zero to Hero and Evolution
by Matt S on March 2, 2011
I wanted to take a quick minute to say thank you for a terrific experience at REAL from May 3-10. My intention was to immerse myself in the kiting culture and try to steepen my learning curve so I can hang with my buddies- and that’s exactly what happened. I am so happy that I got hooked up with you guys for back to back kite camps. I was riding with my buddies (can’t quite say I was ‘hanging’ with them...need to get some mileage first).
I appreciate the laid-back but serious style your shop has- and the attention and energy your team displays. Amy got me set up and Ed really came through as my instructor. I also appreciate the help in getting my gear shipped down there and then shipped out again.
I can’t say enough about how stress-free the whole experience was (except for may the 35 mph winds Ed had me riding on the second session!).
Thanks again, and you can be sure that I’ll be back to Hatteras and to REAL.

Now I can call myself a kiteboarder
by Mitch on March 2, 2011
Thanks for all your help on my recent trip. I've truly progressed from "trying to become a kiteboarder" to becoming a "real kiteboarder" and that's an enormous transition to make in 3 days. I'll look forward to seeing you hopefully again for joyride and wave riding.

Now I can kite with my kids
by David on March 2, 2011
I just wanted to drop a note to say what a great week we had thanks in
large part to your stellar operation. The weather wasn't great for me to get a lot of time on the water, but for Shanna and Gavin it was near perfect. Shanna's
transitions improved significantly. Gavin got up and riding and (importantly) really enjoyed himself and can't wait to get out on the water this summer. He was stoked to get his pic taken with Mauricio A.
and Jason S. The food was great, the people were great. Thanks so much
- we'll be back next year I hope.
