Core GTS 2 REAL Pro Review by Toby Diggens:
Core developed the GTS alongside their sister brand of Carved (no longer with us on the kite side of things) which were the C-Kite wing of this company. Personally I thought that the Carved Fireball was one of the best C-Kites I have ever ridden and I think that quite a few features have transferred across into the GTS.
The GTS is nimble through the sky, ready to throw on the power when necessary. It is definitely aimed at the Freestyle and more aggressive rider with fatter wingtips leading to more twitchy steering than the RiotXr3. This makes for great kiteloops, epic carves and butters and at the same time razor sharp trim that allows you to set the kite at the right angle for your chosen trick.
I have ridden this kite through a very large wind range and the consistency of feel was the standout for me. Whether I was riding the 12 or the 7, the 14 or the 9, I always felt like the kite did the same thing. Yes the 7m turned quicker but not by much. As wakestyle and freestyle riders demand better consistency from their kites to land bigger and more technical tricks, this attribute from the GTS is crucial.
Great upwind and whilst not having close to automatic relaunch like the Riot or Slingshot Rally, it does come off the water easily.
In waves it was a little too juicy for how I ride but that is where the Riot Xr3 takes the crown.
A dedicated Freestyle and Wake kite that will have you landing new tricks time and time again! 4.5*
