REAL Pro Review by Paul Cameron:
The 2014 Singshot Space Pickle 5-0 puts a new spin on lightwind riding. Its short length allows for a very responsive and playful feeling while its width stabilizes the board, giving you the best of both worlds: light wind ability and board performance. Part surfboard and part dance floor, if you’re working on dialing in your transitions then this is the board for you. The extra width of this board gives added stability and buoyancy throughout the transition. Its clean, slick design shows off the all-American wood core that Slingshot boards are renowned for and makes for a very durable board that can put up with all the stresses of kiteboarding. The short and wide cut of the board also makes it ideal for kitesurfing in smaller, softer waves.
Although the added width has a tendency to slow acceleration, the quad fin design helps counteract this by reducing drag. Its buoyancy makes up for its lack in speed, making this board a very desirable light wind option.
Whether you’re looking for a light wind shredding machine or a board to get the most out of a smaller break, this is the perfect board for you. Overall, it is just a super fun ride.
