I got a chance to ride the 11m GP and here are my first impressions. The kite looks really good - they killed it this year w/graphics and the bag it comes in is high quality. Construction of the kite also seemed to be very durable and well thought out.
After launching the kite and getting out on my board the kite felt very stable. I could put the kite at 12 and tighten my boots up and did not have to worry about it over flying me with a gust or falling out of the sky.
The kite was very smooth with consistent power and seemed to relaunch very easily with just the steering lines (I never needed the 5th line on my 40min session). I felt the kite slacked out pretty well but still kept a fair amount of tension to pull yourself around with the bar if needed. I did like the bar grip and the above bar depower strap system was very clean and easy to use while riding.
What I didn't like about the kite was the heavy bar pressure. You would expect bar pressure in a C kite but to have a lot of it and the kite not being quick turning because of it was kind of disappointing. I'm sure it could possibly be remedied with some turning on the kite bridle/bar positions. One other thing for me with shorter arms was that the large chicken loop the large release system mean that the bar is a long way away from your body. This means that when you unhook your arms need to be further away from your body and I found myself having to really muscle the bar back towards my body to do some tricks instead of unhooking close to the body and keeping the bar right there.
All in all its a good kite - I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. The GP is a C kite so its a specific feel for a more advanced rider. By no means a kite for everyone but great choice for a freestyler or wakestyle dedicated rider.
