Liquid Force

Description

The Ultra is a new addition to the Liquid Force kite bindings line up that offers maximum support in an open-toe design.

Liquid Force Ultra Bindings Tech Specs:
• IPX Chassis: All new, molded Nylon chassis with metal teeth provides the ultimate board/boot connection.
• Impact EVA: Takes the shock of landings and displaces it from your foot.
• EVA foot-bed: 3D molded foot-bed with ergonomic contours.
• Control Liner: Seamless molded tongue design and integrated J bars.
• Zonal Lace System: Lacing system allows you to adjust lace tension.
• TPU Support Structure: Support structure that flexes and supports.

What we like:
The Ultras are not wakeboard boots that you can use for kiteboarding - they are specifically designed with kiteboarding in mind. These bindings have Liquid Force's IPX chassis which provides these bindings with a really solid connection to your board. If you try to lift your toe or heel your bindings will not bend which means you have better control of your board. We like the dual lace system and the amount of support around your ankles.

What we don't like:
Open-toe bindings are comfortable and easy to use but if you are planning on getting serious with sliders or riding in cold water, you might prefer to use closed-toe bindings. If this is something you are concerned about, take a look at the Liquid Force Vantage.

Why you want the Liquid Force Ultra kite bindings:
Because you want a binding with lots of support that still allows you decent range of motion and flexibility.

REAL Pro Review by Scott Thompson:

The Ultra Kite bindings for 2013 are a great piece of gear to have for wake style. With the IPX chassis system, the rider’s feet are firmly secured to the board. It features a lace up system, which is great for anyone who wants good support around the ankles. It allows the rider to customize the binding around the ankle and foot much more than they would be able to with Velcro straps. However, this does not mean that they are not flexible boots.

The Ultra Kite bindings have great flex for anyone who wants to press it out on sliders. I have personally ridden with these bindings on both a kite board and a wakeboard. They are a great pair of boots to have in your gear lineup.
