Liquid Force

Description

Liquid Force did it right with the all new Drive kiteboard. It comes in the right sizes and the right construction at the right price. The all wood core backed up by the LF Fluid Rail, makes the Drive super strong with out the extra weight that you see from most boards in this class. This is a beginner board that you will never grow out of.

What we like:
From the first ride off the beach you will appreciate the edging power of the Drive. It lays over and cuts upwind in any water conditions. It is stiff between your feet with a more flexible tip that gives the Drive a lot of stability underfoot for the beginner. When you flatten the board for transitions, the edge releases easily and the Drive carves a nice turn. With board sizes from 132cm to 148cm, the Drive will work for anyone.

What we don't like:
The Drive has a flat bottom that helps get you upwind easily but hurts when you land really hard jumps. This board is targeted at the beginner/intermediate kiteboarder, so it should not be much of a problem for that group of riders.

Why you want the Liquid Force Drive
This is the best riding and nicest quality beginner board that has ever been made. The Drive does it all and will not leave you with a clunky "beginner board" a few weeks after you learn to kiteboard. If you buy the right size Drive, you will be stoked on this twin tip until you start landing powered wake tricks or massive kite loops.

The Drive is our #1 selling board at REAL because it is a great beginner and intermediate kiteboard. They are selling it complete with good pads and straps and the variety of sized board make it work for most kiters.

The Profile pads and straps that come complete with the Drive are nice and adjustable. They fit size 7-13 foot. They will be a little snug for the 13 with booties until you break them in. I prefer the Luxury pads and straps because of the large gel pack under foot and the toe ridge. Those features lock your foot into the strap better.

Liquid Force has made wake style boards that have a very loose and skatey feel for a long time. The Drive is the complete opposite and provides the rider with a positive grippy feel that is really secure for the first time rider. It is super stable too.

My only complaint is that they land hard because of the flat bottom and I wish they made one of these boards super wide for the really big boys or light wind junkies. Besides for that, TWO THUMBS UP!

    I tested the Drive in underpowered conditions that were pretty choppy and sloppy. I was really surprised how well a flat bottomed board cut through the chop. I have ridden boards with bottom shape for a really long time, so I was stoked that this board did so well in the chop. It is pretty stiff too and I thought that was going to be a problem for the beginner, but it isn't. The stiffness makes the Drive feel really stable and supported under your feet.

    I am really stoked on the ease of use and how well this board rides. It goes upwind great and any beginner to intermediate rider that gets on the Drive is going to become a better kiteboarder.

    At the end of the day you want your gear to make you better, and that is what the Drive does.
