Description

The Best Cabo is a lively kite that will let you rip the backs off of waves.
With light bar pressure and fast turning, the Cabo makes riding waves easy. It is stable enough for unhooking and letting the kite drift down the line while you surf the wave.

• 2013 Best Cabo Sizes:5m,6m,7m,9m, 11m
• Best Redline Performance Bar V3 47cm (22m lines) - for 5m, 6m, 7m, 9m
• Best Redline Performance Bar V3 52cm (22m lines) - for 11m
• Stuff Sack
• Back Pack
• Pump

What we like:
The Cabo allows you to focus on riding waves and not what is happening with your kite. This might sound strange, but this kite is just nice to ride. That is really general, but the Cabo rides great and everyone that tested it loved the feel. Most of those people don't even kite in the waves either.

What we don't like:
While most of the kites in the Best range pull a lot harder than the size on the bag, the Cabo rides true to size. This makes it difficult to work the Cabo into your existing kite quiver. Give a REAL Pro a call and we will set you straight on sizing.

Why you want the Cabo:
You will become a better kitesurfer with the Best Cabo. If you aspire to be a kitesurfer, this kite will get you there since it relaunches well and is stable overhead.

Best Cabo kite review by Matt Nuzzo

I loved the Cabo from when I first got on it. Light and solid feeling. Quick but not too quick. It is one of the better kites that I have ridden from Best in years. I couldn't believe that it actually jumps really well too.

REAL Pro Tip: Use the knot all the way away from the kite on the trailing edge for the proper rigging on all sizes except for the 5m. The 5m use the knot closest to the kite on the trailing edge. I like the 9m on the 47cm bar, but it you want it to really rip through turns try it on the 52cm.

  1. Pure Surf Kite

by Stellato - REAL Lesson Center on September 29, 2012

    Sizes Flown: 7M and 9M
    Rider Weight: 175
Conditions: 23-29mph, 3-4ft. waves, some current

I had a great time riding this kite for both surf downwinders and staying in one spot for a long surf-style session. Upwind is great on this kite and has no problem motoring back to the lineup. The thing I noticed immediately is the kite does not have strong low-end pull unless you are aggressively diving the kite. As a surf kiter this was incredible because I could easily depower the kite and ride waves once I was connected and on the wave face. I had to make some adjustments for my sizing, as when I would have ridden a 7M in other kite models I was happier on the 9M Cabo. If you choose the right size kite you will have ample power to get on plane and tow out to the lineup, then you can easily dump the power out of the kite and ride the waves you catch. Stable in the sky and easy to take your eye off the kite, allowing the rider to focus on smacking the lip or gouging huge carves.

Solid relaunch and an easy to use control bar round out the package, making this kite a must-try for any surf style rider.
  2. Really sick in the waves

by Nuzzi on September 18, 2012

These kites have a solid feel and you can notice the crispness of the new material. The small sizes don't deform in gust off shore conditions.

The are plenty fast and you never have to think about where the kite is. It is always in the right spot.

The leash system is great on the new bar too. The suicide leash system will flag the kite if you push the release, but won't flag if you let go of the bar.
